Client gets verified with a video and then a month later they are unverified again. The business is legit, everything Google is looking for. It couldn't be better. No error message. No warning. Nothing. Why is this happening and how do we make it stop?

Are they making any edits to the listing monthly that could be triggering this? Is the GBP connected to any 3rd party API that has access to make edits to the listing? Sometimes Google will make a business reverify to confirm they are indeed located where they say they are, and sometimes edits can trigger this, especially major edits like website, phone number, name, and address.

If the issue persists, you can reach out to a verification specialist using this form

Hah. I think you nailed it. I suspect it was a phone number change. Long story about why that got changed more than once, but it did. I'm instructing my client now to LEAVE IT ALONE! :) Thanks, Joy.

Turns out that has nothing to do with it. We got verified and 3 weeks later, they're suspended again. NO CHANGES were made. This time they aren't even been shown publicly. Before they were; we just couldn't edit it.

The saga continues. Turns out now they suspended for deceptive content. There was none that we knew of so there was nothing we could do to fix it. No fake reviews, no fake engagement, none of the things Google says falls under that label. There were two bathoom remodeling images that looked almost identical except that one had a shower and one had a bath. But the layout was the same, so was the cabinetry and more. The picture was even taken at the same location. So it looked like it might have been the same bathroom only a 3D rendering showing the two, bath or shower, options. I deleted one, thinking maybe Google has image detection and it might think we were creating fake images. They were real, though.

We appealed. It was approved, and now we show publicly. But reviews were gone. Then later reviews were there. Then I saw 15 out of the 40 or so. At the same time, my client was seeing all of them. When I clicked on the "Read reviews" link in the manager, the window that opened said, "No Reviews." That evening, there were no reviews at all for me again.

Google can't make up its mind with this back and forth. If we were suspended for fake reviews, Google was 100% wrong. If it's keeping the reviews we had hidden because it thinks they are fake, again, it's wrong. Google should not be making us reverify every few weeks. All our info is legit and verifiable.

How do we make this end?

Deceptive content can also mean the address, i.e if Google does not trust the business is actually at the address. I do not think it was the reviews that caused the suspension. After reinstatement, the reviews should show up within 48 hours. If they do not, contact support and ask them to find the reviews and restore them.

The address has been verified many times with live video even. It's not that.

Yesterday, the client saw the reviews when I did not. Then later some showed up. Last night, the only ones were Yelp's. Today they are all there. So I would agree with you Elizabeth. If the reviews were the problem, Google would just remove them.

As for the reason for the hard suspension, I'm going to guess that it was a change of phone number now that you remind me that an address can be deceptive content too. Client has a history of changing things in the GBP without telling me and he did change the phone number 3 times. Could that be it? He has strict instructions not to touch it now.

If that's it, I am concerned because we're going to be changing conversion trackers and will need a new phone number. What would you recommend?
