Do Press Releases Help SEO?

I just published a video about some tests we did to see if press releases help ranking on Google and the results we got recently were the opposite of what they were several years ago when we tested this.

I'd love to hear if you guys are trying press releases for SEO and if you are seeing results from it?

Interesting. I could see in in the era of EEAT Google might perceive a press release as an authority signal. What was the public response to the press releases? Were they linked to or quoted by media or anyone else?

I'm just wondering if a press release might have to get some traction in other places before Google gives it any authority.
