I own and operate my own financial planning and investment management business. I launched in July 2024. I submitted a request for a GBP in August. I work from home primarily, and so I submitted a video of the street address, my business card, laptop, etc. It was denied and suspended. I submitted an appeal about 2 weeks ago, and included my LLC paperwork, a client invoice with sensitive information redacted, and at least one other item (forgetting currently...). The appeal was denied. I posted on the GBP forum for help, and I was basically told the same thing. Submit tax paperwork, business paperwork. I don't have a utility bill with the business because we just pay our utilities from household income. Can anybody offer additional guidance or get me connected with a GBP expert? The review process seems so subjective. I am just trying to list as a service area with my home address not listed of course.

Was your GBP suspended right after you created it and tried to verify?

Have you submitted a second appeal (request additional review of a denied appeal) yet? If not, then send over your business info and I can help look into it before you submit that second appeal. Send over
  • Full business name
  • Address (one used to verify even if service area business)
  • Profile ID (guide on where to find this)
  • Screenshot of your GBP profile edit area showing the name, location, phone number etc of your business
  • Other images of proof like a business license, insurance, utility bill
  • Screenshot of the appeal tool showing the "not approved" as well as the link to the "policy violation"
The GBP experts on the forum are right, you will need to submit more business proof to prove you are a legit business serving your area - including proof you did not submit before.

One tip is to get your business listed on your state's SOS business directory and on BBB.org - Google will often crawl public records like this to verify a business is real. As a new business, you may not be on there yet which could cause an issue with the verification and/or appeal process.
