I'll try to keep this brief as possible. I had my Google Workspace account flagged for some unknown reason, and subsequently 3 GBPs associated with my account were suspended. One of them is still suspended (I'll fix it later), but 2 of them are having a strange backend/frontend data mismatch, like something is out of sync upon reinstatement and the database is glitching out.

GBP #1 - Address was showing erroneously prior to suspension, so I changed it to SAB and it was reinstated promptly. But, now that it's live again, the address that I hid is displaying on the listing. I also couldn't make any edits to the listing to save my life, they all get denied or encounter some mysterious error. I toggled the address off and back on to purposefully trigger reverification, hoping this will get the listing unstuck, if so I might try this on GBP #2 also.

GBP #2 - The dashboard at business.google.com/locations says Verified, but if you go to manage it via the search view it says "Google is processing your verification. It may take up to 5 days." Also, the listing does show and even ranks well for searches, the problem is the listing is malformed, it's incomplete and does not load properly. Maps Platform engineers are supposedly looking at it, but I have heard nothing and it's been weeks. This business is worried they will have to furlough or lay people off, maybe go out of business if this persists. I've tried everything I can think of to get someone to actually look at this but so far it's just crickets.

Their CID URL strangely resolves to a Maps URL with their GBP name blanked out, ie this:

Resolves to:

I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

Interesting. I came here because I'm having a similar issue. GBP support and Maps Platform support (engineering) have had this in their laps for weeks and it's still stuck; tl;dr my G Workspace account got restricted for an unknown reason, 3 associated GBPs got suspended, this one got reinstated and is "live" but it's not displaying properly, as if something got stuck during reactivation of the profile and it's in limbo:

Notice after it redirects/resolves, the place part of the URL is blank (/maps/place//@28.64...). This client is seriously going to go out of business if this keeps up.

I have another GBP that was associated with the account, it's also reactivated and "live" but displaying similar strange issues with data not being in sync. On Maps the address shows, but on the backend it's set to SAB! I also cannot make any edits to this listing, it just says "Something went wrong and your edit wasn't published."

These listings are just STUCK with out of sync information, looks like a total bug but I can't get any help. Note that no API-connected tools have been used on these locations.

I have not seen this but I would definitely go to the Google forum and start a thread. Since there is no option to get directions there is something wrong with the address.

Have you attempted to edit the address in your Google Account? If you do re enter the address and save it, it may trigger a reverification but worth a try.

I decided to create a new thread: GBPs stuck in limbo - Backend/Frontend database bug? | Help & Support for Google Local

OK, yeah I created a Google Forum post and the product expert said they'd try to escalate it. I had the same thought about editing the address and going through verification again, you're right it may be worth a try.

@Claudia the GBP is not live on Google. It's currently in processing status.

You have to wait for Google to publish the GBP. It's not showing up because it's in processing status.

For processing status if it exceeds 7 days I create a support ticket. Make sure you don't have a opening date set either. I know for sure that having a opening date can cause your profile to be in a processing status. If that is not set and you are still in processing then Google support needs to get you out of it. No need for a thread in the forum. If you receive a generic response just reply and provide a screenshot of the message showing processing.

OK, can you help me understand why it's showing up in prolist for relevant queries then, or certain areas are populated but not all? Is there like a partial knowledge graph and data being pulled from other Google assets i.e. Places/Maps Platform but not from Google Business? Cuz notice the screenshots showing that reviews and photos pull up, and it even ranks for "denver printing company," but the result is blank. I've never seen anything like this before.

Never heard that one either. Is that a bug? There was an opening date set, but I deleted it, same status as before though.

I am completely dumbfounded here. I have never seen anything like this before. I have seen countless examples of GBPs getting deleted, but I have never seen them half showing.

@Claudia I just did that experiment with GBP #1, I changed the address, got it to trigger reverification, went through that process and got verified again in minutes, but the same problems persisted i.e. backend is showing SAB while frontend/Maps is showing the old outdated address, and it won't let me make edits on the back. Something is definitely screwy with these listings after the suspension. Yay :/

I should have emphasized an opening date in the future. Not a past date. Sorry I didn’t clarify that.

Yep! Pretty much exactly that, flickering and everything. The presentation is the same - photos and reviews show up, but no name, phone, address, GBP attributes, etc.

This does match the Ops issue. Sounds like it’s a technical issue. The op should go immediately to the forum. An engineer will need to fix it.

Our good friend Barry “Rustybrick” covered this issue on his website and YouTube video. Hopefully it lights a fire under Google’s engineer’s feet.

RE #1: I've seen cases where the address or map pin on the GBP backend doesn't match the public listing. In either case, the support team fixed the problem for me. So, set the address correctly in the editor (if possible) and then contact support to let them know the publicly visible profile is out of sync. (And if the support team doesn't fix it, take that Case ID to the community forum.)

RE #2: I see this as a two-part problem. A.) There's a conflicting verification message. B.) The profile looks totally broken. I've seen lots of cases of A. It's a pretty common bug right now. I've never seen B before.

RE Case A: The verification tool is correct: the profile is verified. That's why it shows up in searches. The message you see on the NMX about waiting 5 days is what's broken. I've seen examples where it sat like this for weeks. I'm quite sure it will never resolve.

In my experience, the support team has fixed case A. Take a screenshot of the "Wait 5 days" message shown in the NMX and of the "Verified" status in the verification tool. Then use the verification tool to contact Google. Give them those two screenshots along with a brief explanation. (If you can't attach the screenshots, link to them in your explanation.)

RE Case B: I'd tackle Case A and see if Case B still persists. I suspect it will, in which case, open a new thread with support, expect it to fail, and then take the Case ID to the community forum.
