Google business site and local rankings

I have a theory.

The Google Business site is technically just a landing page that implements in real time all the updates made to GBP. So theoretically, it could be very rewarding for local SEO if you make keyword-rich updates, and all of them go online without needing to write long articles. Am I wrong?
