Hello,
I changed the business name more than a year ago. However, the Google business site URL relates to the old name, and cannot be changed even if the title of the site is new. As for now, I unpublished the site, but is there a way to delete this site completely, and create a new one with an updated URL? In general, do I need it if I have a regular website?
I like how GBS keeps all the updates and photos but not sure if it helps with rankings.

You should be able to edit the site name when you are in the management section for the .site:

The site name is edited long ago, the URL stays the same

Sorry I meant the site URL (I called it the site name incorrectly):

I don`t have such an option. When go for manage domains, it shows the actual regular website that is attached to GBP. If choose to edit it, just round back to the GPB dashboard

Connecting a GBP website (which google, it should be noted, seems to want to phase out soon) to a separate domain name is well beyond my knowledge. You should edit the thread title to mention that this is a domain url, otherwise people will make the same assumption I and TGL did.
