Hi Guys

For the past two weeks, my profile has suddenly shown 0 impressions. Before this, it ran smoothly for almost two years without any issues. No changes have been made to the profile recently; the last update was several months ago when new photos were added.
Google Support initially suspected that the issue might be due to service areas being set over 300km away from our business location. I immediately removed these areas, but even after more than a week, there were still no impressions.
What’s strange is that there are no policy violations on this profile. It simply stopped receiving impressions from one day to the next.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Local Service Ads are essential for our business, and this downtime is threatening our company’s survival.

Hi Alex,

I have not experienced such a drop devoid of updates, hopefully someone who has experienced it will chime in here. Beyond increased competition and possible budget/bidding settings, these are some things I would check - you already mentioned nothing in the Policy Manager, so I'll omit that:
  • Billing thresholds/ID verifications needed - I have seen a bug where a super low daily spend limit was wrongfully applied to an account, and thus limiting the ad serving
  • GBP connection + any recent updates to the associated GBP?
  • Confirm insurance/license/background checks are not expiring soon or have expired
  • Make sure your notification settings are correct (so you receive acct notifications)
  • Confirm individuals with account access haven't made any changes/confirm access
  • Policy changes in your country/location
There are more management best practices too, but since your ads were performing well before the drop, then I'm guessing you were already checking those boxes. I would push support to escalate the issue, and/or provide more info.

Hi Chris,

Thank you so much for your detailed reply and the thoughtful suggestions—I really appreciate it!

I came across a similar mention in the forum about issues with a super low daily spend limit. However, I spend approximately €13k per month running LSAs in Germany, so that doesn’t seem to apply in my case.

Regarding your other points:

  • No updates have been made to my GBP.
  • For my business, only high insurance coverage and a trade license are required, and neither is close to expiring.
  • My notification settings are configured correctly.
  • No other individuals have access to this account.
  • There haven’t been any policy changes in my region—Google would have notified me otherwise.
I’ve been following up with support for two weeks now, but unfortunately, they haven’t been able to identify the issue. Their suggestion was either to let this account be deleted by Google and start a new one, or to wait god knwos how long until they can pinpoint the problem—neither of which is ideal. 😞

If you or anyone else has additional insights or advice, I’d be very grateful!

Thanks again for taking the time to help out.

Google resets LSA scores every six months. Missing a lot of calls or failing to respond quickly to messages can tank your score. If you flag a lot of leads as being bad, that can negatively impact your score.
