Our business recently acquired another chain of retail locations. We claimed and verified these locations in order to bring then into our GBP dashboard, but something really weird happened with one of them.

It looks like Google has somehow merged our store with the listing for the entire shopping center it's located in. This means we have several hundred unrelated reviews and photos associated with our fully verified profile.

These reviews and images weren't on the listing when we claimed it. I have absolutely no idea how this could've happened. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Any advice on how to deal with it? I've put in 2 support tickets at this point but I can't get passed the canned responses.

Yikes!! It took me a bit to get to this thread, so perhaps you have already solved this issue?

If not, let me try to help.

Did you respond to the canned response email, or were you not able to because it was a no-reply email? If you can, respond to that canned response and repeat your request to have the profile unmerged. Explain that the reviews and photos are not for your business and that they need to be removed. They should be able to unmerge these, but you will want to get them to do this ASAP.

If it was a no-reply email, you should try to contact them again using the general form, but make sure to not click other. That is a sure way to get the no-reply email. Or, you can go to the GBP forum with your case IDs and ask a PE to help.

What triggered the merge, do you know? Did you make a change to that particular listing?
