In May, Google started de-indexing pages of multiple websites and different niches, too. So, it's a major turnaround. Do you guys face such issues? I need your assistance and ideas about why this is happening. AI content can also be a reason.

  • If you are NOT updating the pages on a regular basis then de-indexing will occur.

  • If you have multiple pages talking talking about the same topic then again Google will keep the most relevant one and de-index the rest. So review your metas more as this could be the problem as all meta pages has to be unique.

That not true. Google likes golden content. Some of my highest ranking pages haven't been touched in years.

Yes, because if i am creating area pages on air duct cleaning - for 100 plus areas - I am covering different area keywords or topics, which would rather be the same. Maybe thin content & AI usage can be issue?

Have you looked at Marie Haynes article on this?

In most cases I reviewed, there was no reduction in clicks. It seems that Google was simply removing pages that would rarely be chosen from Search.

In some cases, the pages removed were ones that clearly were written for SEO purposes only. If you think this is the case for your site, it likely is worthwhile doing a blog cleanup to ensure that your content is something you would happily send your customers and audience to because of its unique insight and not just filler created for the sake of having content.
