I have a florist client who has been really stuck with visibility in Google maps/places.

Despite there only being a few florists in her small town, her business doesn't appear on the map at all in certain searches.
I am starting to wonder if it's a filtering issue-- she has a top-ranking competitor right around the corner.

I put some info in this Google doc. Would anyone with experience in GBP filtering be willing to take a look? I'd really appreciate it!

Not a filtering expert, but it does look like it's filtered to me. The two shops may only be 150 feet apart.

Your second search doesn't even show the client for me. In fact i had to zoom down to just her building with no competitor in the viewport before she showed up.

"floral design in petoskey" does pull her into #5.

Thank you very much for taking the time to look and do these test searches! I really appreciate it!
Now to do research on what to actually do about this...

Doesn't look like you are being filtered to me.

But here's what I would have done:

1 - Adding Petoskey in the business name. "Pachamama Floral Design | Petoskey" that would instantly start bringing in some extra impressions, and then try to compare it with prior data. If you're seeing a good difference when the keyword is in the business title, then it's definitely a relevancy and citation issue.

2 - Start publishing more videos on your GBP. After a couple of days, check if your profile is actually being updated with the videos, as well as the media being displayed on your GBP overview tab.

3 - Please fix all on-page issues as well. Start with your local business markups:

4- Your off page could use some love. Keep in mind you are a media heavy website so please handle speed, on-page SEO, structure. Most importantly " Internal Contextual" that map out your website well

Notice how your competitors SERP links have address, open and even the time can be displayed sometime.
