Making my SAB a brick and mortar,... sorta

i want a physical address on google maps

i used to have one a couple years ago, despite being a SAB, but i was forced to reverify and wasn't allowed to show the address anymore

i noticed a drop in rankings immediately, specifically all the calls i got from within a 5 mile radius from my house dried up and i found myself traveling further for my handyman business

i didn't think i could do anything about it so i just accepted it

a few months ago i moved to a new house about 40 miles away and unknowingly just updated my profile with the new address, triggering the glitch

so now i'm stuck in google maps move bug limbo, where they think i'm still at my old location

i've been talking through email with google support about merging my old GBP into a newly created one, per the suggestions here

but they seem non committal on successfully doing this, saying "we can try to move your reviews"

i cant lose everything i've built over the past 4 years

so i'm thinking about installing a big sign in my yard and another by my front door with my company name on it

setting up an office in my front room and reverifying as a service business that customers can visit

this would immediately resolve my move bug glitch and get me ranking hyper locally fast, i hope

i know this is sketchy, but i'd prefer this, to possible losing all my reviews, pics, videos, updates, q and a's, etc.

i work on my profile constantly, couple times a week adding something to it

good idea? bad idea?
