Phone verified GBPs getting suspended

I have heard that GBPs being created for law firms are being suspended after getting the phone verification option. Are there any other categories where this is happening?

At my agency, we've been working for... oh two years (since Google switched to Video as default) with the default assumption that a phone verification will lead to a revalidation. It's basically not successful enough on the first go for us to proceed otherwise.

So no, this is absolutely not limited to lawyers lol.

Yeah, we work with mostly various home service providers and when we create a new GBP, we'll usually get a phone call verification which will go through, and then immediately the listing will require a video verification which will go through, and then the listing will be suspended and require a reinstatement appeal. I can't understand why they offer the option if they are just going to turn around and suspend the listing anyway. The process is maddening.

Honestly? We aim for live calls so one of our team can be present. Our average client absolutely cannot be trusted with video verification

We're not the only ones going for that strategy, clearly, since my colleagues (I'm not on that part of the team) report that the live call queues have gotten quite a bit longueur, and it's not uncommon to have to wait one hour before you get tot he agent.

I'm betting that Google will have to find yet another way to muck up this process before the end of the year because it will become unmanageable costwise on their end.
