We've got a challenging rebrand situation and hoping for some advice.
We're working on rebranding a client's GBP. The GBP does not have a public address on it. We explicitly told them they need to update their business documentation (business licenses, tax certificates, etc.) to include the updated brand name and the (hidden) address that was used when the GBP was set up.
Well... They updated their business documents to include the new brand name, but they filed their business with the state and other entities under a different business address than the hidden address on their profile. They failed to tell us or consider that they no longer have access to the (hidden) address that was used to set up the profile. And so they can't put those addresses on their documents.
And so now, they don't have any business entities with the business name that's currently on the GBPs, or a matching address (to the hidden address)...
The only thing I can think of is for them to refile an LLC or corporation under the current brand name on the GBP, get a physical address (commercial lease + utility bill), get that physical address verified on the GBP, then go back and get their lease agreement/utility bill updated to the new brand name and get a DBA with the new brand name. THEN change the brand name on the GBP...
Am I crazy? Any ideas?
