Bought a business with a domain name. The actual address has changed. The domain name has been transferred to a new address. Google continues to index and display the old address on maps in search. What steps should be taken to prevent the old address from being indexed?

The address Google displays is taken from your website, Business Profile, and other web content (e.g. Facebook, Yelp, business directories, etc.)

Make sure the correct address appears across those other web properties. Update the data aggregators.

Update your website with the new address and then submit your sitemap to Google Search Console so Google crawls your site and finds the new address.

Then update the address on your Google Business Profile.

The old address will gradually be replaced by the new address in the index, but it will take several weeks.
