I am opening an office and need to move my existing SAB to a physical location in the same city. My current SAB GBP was previously moved (mid 2024) from a neighboring city (home address to home address) - I followed @JoyHawkins advice to create a new listing and then merge here. After around a month of back and forth with Google, eventually my reviews were moved, however I lost all photos and replies to reviews and it took awhile to rank again.

I am now physically moved into the new office and have updated all business documentation, citations, website, press release that the business has moved, GBP + Instagram updates that we're moving etc. I'm planning to wait a couple of weeks for Google to index everything and then edit/show the GBP address. Because I'm in a very low-volume, high-touch business, I am loath to risk losing reviews by creating another new profile and merging (it took me 5 years to get to 10 reviews).

My question is - should I try to update the GBP address by having a friend suggest an edit first? I've seen this approach recommended, but not sure how it works for SABs moving to physical location. I do see the option under "place is closed or not here" then "moved to a new location" and typing in the address - but would that risk shutting down the original GBP? Screenshots below.

Thanks in advance to the fantastic Sterling Sky team and others for advice!

If you are moving to a storefront you can simply add the address. If you.were to ever hide that new address though, the profile would rank back at the old location.
