Single Result SERPS

I'm seeing Google returning SERPS with a single result followed by the normal links to page 2,3, etc:

I know this search isn't local but is this something Google is trialing (at least here in the UK)?

Doesn't appear to be a thing any more. Haven't seen it recently so it may well have been Google doing some testing. It was very weird.

It goes against everything we know about google and it's serp features, so most likely a bug

It happened multiple times over a couple of weeks but has now stopped. If it were a bug it's a pretty major one and why just happening to me?
