This person just created two one-star reviews for a client in the last 24 hours. You can tell from his profile that he has done the same thing to a couple of other businesses. Is there any recourse?

How can you prove (1) whether or not he or she is a customer of the business, and (2) whether or not he or she is using two different IDs for the same person?

The problem is, you cannot prove that it's not just one person, or that it's not based on a real consumer experience.

Maybe someone else will see something that I'm not seeing and give you better advice; from what I can see, though, the best way to address this would be to encourage the posting of many new, favorable reviews by authentic customers, with words, not just review stars.

Can you post a thread on the GMB forum and paste the link here?

@JoyHawkins Done. Thanks for any help you can offer! Here's the link.

@Tim Colling I agree, the best defense is a good offense, and they are trying. Unfortunately, this is one of the types of businesses where it's hard to get public reviews -- a high-end residential mental health treatment facility.

Yep, I have a similar issue with some of my clients, who are almost all providers of home health care or elder care.

Have you suggested that the client ask for reviews from trusted referral sources?

oh yeah that is always step 1 :D. If you haven't go ahead and do that.
