I have a client, a very small skin care and nail salon business, that received a very nasty review from someone the owner doesn't know. The owner only has one other employee:

This is from a person who has only left 3 1-star reviews (in the past two weeks). One of the reviews included the exact same screenshot and was for a dog grooming business in a neighboring town.

We reported it to Google a few days ago. May be we need to wait longer? But, can anyone help get this totally off-topic and obscene review removed?

Thank you.

Have you reported the review using this tool? If yes then yeah you have to wait for Google to approve or not. If the removals get denied, you can appeal that decision directly in the tool and state your case/provide details at that time, including screenshots of the text messages.

You can also flag the review for removal in maps, search, and on your dashboard. Have others flag on maps and search as well, and try to get users with good standing Google accounts to do this to give it a better chance of getting removed.

Thanks @ElizabethRule! I had flagged it on maps and search, but TBH, didn't know about the tool you linked to. When I use it, it says, "Decision pending." So I guess we still need to wait. Thanks again for the resource.
