Verify a Business Profile Using a Government ID

[Stefan Somborac]

In early October, I was given the option to verify a profile with a government ID. The exact wording reads:

Submit an Identity Verification
Upload a photo of your government ID
Your ID is only used for verification and won't be shown publicly

This is the second new verification method I’ve seen this fall. I was given the option to verify a Business Profile with a photo last month.

Like photo verification, the option to verify with a government ID still isn’t mentioned in the Help Center document Verify your business on Google, so it’s probably safe to assume this is still a test.

Anyone seeing this or other new verification options?

Look like @Digital Jedi spotted it a few weeks ago.
