Why BestLawFirms.com is Dominating on Google

Thought this would be a great discussion. There are two very different sites here but both are in the business directory space and both claim to showcase the best businesses. Why do you think one is losing so hard while the other is winning?

Expertise.com literally doesn't have separate listing pages for individual businesses, as far as I can tell. The linking structure is also really annoying. If I'm on the "legal experts for [State]" and there is a list of city links, then I expect these to be "legal experts in [City]", right? But NOPE, those are portal pages for ALL listings at that city, and I have to state again that I want a legal expert. That feels like a terrible user experience.

Even though I'm no expert in organic at all, I can see where the combination of a probably high bounce back rate and no listing pages would cause expertise.com to tank badly, regardless of what bestlawfirms.com might be doing right.

Seems to match up really well and very specific to the Google core quality updates in 2024 and 2025. One was penalized and the other benefited. In this case I think Google's updates did exactly what they were supposed to do.
