Yahoo E-mail Mobile Recovery Number Required

Good morning folks. Has anyone else noticed that Yahoo is now requiring a mobile phone recovery number when creating an e-mail account?

Doesn't seem to be for verification purposes, however. Just for recovery as far as I can tell.

Yes, we've been getting prompts to add mobile for the last month.

At this point, verification has not changed to my knowledge but we are now syncing up via the Google accounts.
