Hi,

We have a new SEO customer who was previously running pay per click ads. They have never had a google business profile, but they said they used to have 25 reviews on google. I'm wondering if this is possible, maybe on their google ads? In the past were people able to leave a review for a business that was only running ads but didn't have a google business profile? If there are reviews attached to their ad account, where would I find them? And if we do find them, can we merge google ads reviews with our google business profile?

Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

It used to be that you could run LSA without having a Business Profile.
(See https://www.seroundtable.com/google-local-service-ads-requires-business-profile-38221.html)

And it used to be that LSA would collect reviews separately from a business's profile.

So, perhaps your client had LSA.

Thank you Stefan that is helpful and likely what happened. Do you know if there's any way to retrieve those reviews?
