We have a new website client that their previous marketing company still has ownership of their GBP. That company has refused to transfer any access back to the business owner. My question is if the previous company does not accept a request for access what are our options for gaining control of the listing? They currently have 48 reviews so we would like to be able to keep those and not have to try and start from scratch with a new listing down the road. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Solution
Have you tried to request ownership? If not, try and best case they don't reply and you can gain access after a few days.

Worst case they deny it you'll be notified by email and you can try to appeal the denied request by replying directly to that email and explaining the situation. You should provide as much proof as possible that the marketing company should not have access to the listing.
