Has anyone experienced this? Map pack varies depending on what web browser you're using?

Does it vary when you search in a new incognito window in both on the same device? Being logged into a Google account can vary results, especially when location services are turned on for a mobile device.

As @Brian - TGL mentioned, you should use Chrome in "incognito" mode. For Safari the equivalent is called "Private Browsing". Edge and Firefox also have "private" modes. If you are unfamiliar with this, for most browsers, you click on the three dots near the upper right hand corner and you'll see an option to open up a new incognito or private tab.

If you aren't using "incognito" and "private" mode there are several reasons why a different browser can return different results:

Browser Cookies, Cache, and Search History can all affect the search results. Google personalizes results based on your search history and activity. Also, if you are logged into different Google accounts on different browsers, or logged into a Google Account on Chrome but not on Safari, the search results will most likely be different. Google customizes search results based on user profiles, interests, and activity.

Lastly, having different plug-ins on each browser can also impact the search results.

I'd also recommend trying out Local & International Google SERP Checker. It is a super handy tool that allows you to emulate a search from a specific location. You put in a zipcode or address, click on the geocode button, and provide your search terms. When using a zipcode, just a reminder that you won't know the precise location being used for results. If you want precise results, but sure to put in an address.

Very good information! Thank you for sharing this detailed write up.
