Someone in another forum said, "Its Google. Don't worry about what you can't control". So true, but what we do have control over is creating bad ass content and spreading across the flood of social platforms that are out there. Readers and customers don't always have to come from Google.

SEO in 2015 – new methods in optimizing content

Sean Jackson of Copyblogger recently said, “SEO is dead.” He continued, “not the practice, but the term.” Jackson felt, rightly so, that in recent years SEO had come to stand for the spammy, often unethical practices of sneaky “black-hat” SEO practitioners.

As Google has cracked down on these practices and as consumers have moved to other avenues of finding content (social media sites, blogs, aggregators, etc.), SEO has been swallowed whole by a much broader set of necessary considerations.

So true and well said Justin! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing. I feel like a lot of content is written for the sake of having as many/more pages than your competitors. Writing great content is a huge advantage because you can draw traffic from it from multiple different channels, get linked to from it and. of course, use it to increase your search traffic. Great content is the best bang for your buck so thanks for shedding light on this!
