I haven't read through the whole thread, but I'd be wary about following the advice on this one. All previous posts are from a year and 3 months ago, which is a lifetime when it comes to Google (For some perspective, these are from before the New Dashboard was even announced, and there have been many changes to guidelines since then)

Yes, lots has changed BUT most of the tips I think are still valid.
