Moving a location to a new address in the future

what do you recommend I should do if a business with a gmb listing moves out of its physical office location listing solely running virtually online for a period of time?

It depends on the details but I would mark the current listing temporarily closed if they plan on opening it back up at some point in the near future.

Then I would set up a service area business out of the address where they'll be doing the virtual work. Technically Google doesn't allow online only businesses to have listings but they seem to be making exceptions during the pandemic, as long as it is temporary and there are plans to get back to the proper business model.
