For months we've been trying to figure out why one particular business, one particular practitioner's reviews have been vanishing after posting.
We've been assuming reviewer error/incompetence but it dawned on us this morning...

The person that they are reviewing (and calling out by name in the review content) has the last name of...
Hmm. a 4 letter word that starts with Di, ends with a ck, and is an often an abbreviation of "Richard".

Could Google be overzealously censoring the reviews because of his last name?

Actually looking through previous reviews he has been mention by firstname lastname before and they're online.

We know that one of the missing reviews didn't include a first name and instead used "Mr. Lastname."

Well I guess it's time to test if

Mr[period] Lastname = Not ok
but
Bob[no period] Lastname = Fine

Otherwise we're at a loss to explain how previous reviews were not flagged/removed.

Update. 7 reviews/7 people now with missing reviews. This is when the firm owner has explicitly told people not to mention his last name in any written Google reviews.
They still aren't showing up for this client/location.

Anyone have any further ideas on this?

A coworker contacted GMB support and they said there's nothing they can do without screenshots submitted by the actual reviewer on their end. (Which is asking too much of ludites.)
