Unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to get around this. Whenever this happens to me I have to contact the client and have them shut down the automated phone system so that we can complete the verification.
However, I have contacted support before and explained this problem to them. I expressed how big of an issue disconnecting the phones would be etc. etc. They manually verified my listing for me but they expressed that it would only be a 1 time thing.
