Question on verifying Google Plus business page

Just a question, are you able to verify your google plus business page if you are a service area yet? I see where it gives me an option but I remember reading somewhere that your not suppose to do this.

Not supposed to yet. Once you get the new Places dashboard and once it gives you an option to upgrade to G+ from the dashboard then I as far as I know you could then.
