Reason for losing all reviews?

Forgive me if this is naive, but is there a reason a Google Business Profile would all of a sudden lose all of their reviews?

Starting last October Google has been getting aggressive with removing reviews. It appears that a lot of the reviews were removed in error. I recommend that you reach out to support if you feel that the reviews were removed in error.
