I’ve had a Google Business Profile for about a year now. Before launching it, we created roughly 75 citations using a slightly different version of our business name. We only just updated all of those citations this past weekend to match the GBP name exactly. In your experience, what kind of impact could the mismatch have had on our rankings or visibility? And now that everything is fully aligned, do you think we’ll see any measurable improvement moving forward?
 
Exact matching isn’t important anymore. Google has no problem with partial match these days, so if the only thing that changed was the name, and the phone, address, and web stayed the same, then that work will have had zero impact. It wasn’t hurting you before, and you should expect no ranking benefit after doing the work.
