Hello

We have a client asking about one of their competitors Local Pack listings. Particularly where it says in yellow "Their website mentions luxury senior living". Any guidance for this for SEO? Is it schema? How is Google pulling this exactly? Any help greatly appreciated

These are called justifications. Pretty much what it says on the can: the words appear on the page being linked as the profile's website. Indeed they are hard to miss:

Thank you! knew about the justifications but was trying to figure out if Google was simply just pulling from the site(wasnt sure if anything else was needed to be done other than simply adding that). I also noticed all of the competition who had the justifications had "Luxury Senior Living" on their home page in BIG letters :)

This might be a weird question but the size of the font have any bearing on ranking for "luxury senior living" we noticed 3 of the competitors that have the justifications are using this large font on home page.

Most folks would say size doesn't matter. However, it affects readability, which is UX, so it's important. Having it in the H1 would be more important than actual size. So if that's your important kw, then having it in the h1 and making it prominent should be a goal.

It might not be quite as simple, but how much google can actually be trusted when they boast how good they are at understanding the semantics of a page even when the correct tags aren't being used is... shall we say dubious.

@JS Girard that's true, but my suggestion still holds. Good size for UX, H1 for SEO. I didn't mean to imply that you should use size vs H1, both make sense in this case.

It can be pulled from a multitude of places on your site, so just general SEO and making sure the things you provide are listed across the site should help. @JoyHawkins showed a while back that Google was pulling these justifications from "img alt tags" on a site!

If your website is linked to your GBP and your keywrods are there, Google should start picking them up and placing them in the justifications over time.
