Hasn't been GMB for years. It's now called GBP.

And GEO and SEO doesn't apply. You can't 'rank' a GBP in the same way you can a website. All you can really do is make sure all the relevant details are correct and up to date and then collect reviews (which is really important)

The only LLM (and even then, I believe only in English areas, maybe not all of them either) that currently reads GBP data is ask maps and Gemini/Google AI mode. So There's not really any GEO/AEO that can even be done on a GBP.

few things i learned running a research on 350+ prompts to gemini was the search is more intent match based rather than keyword based.

1. it is looking for semantic match, so we should make sure we are filling all the attributes details that GBP offers. one example was: i asked for a nearby restaurant where i can work on a laptop without any interruptions. and it suggested me 7 restaurants but specifically mentioned not to go to 2 restaurants as they had loud music in their attribute.

2. Ask Maps has recently rolled out and coming up with queries and how it is mentioning your brand is really essential. Ask Maps is an agent and it does look into the website too, but it emphasized more on reviews, if it finds matching reviews to the user questions, it prioritizes such business.

3. good description, filling the services, their description and any other field that gbp offer is essential now. you increase your chances.
