"Access this Business Profile" from "Suggest an edit"

Does anyone know what this section is intended to do?

Maps profile > "Suggest an edit" > "Change name or other details"

Just another entry point for verifying a profile? It looks like it isn't an option on verified profiles.

I don't have any authority to manage this specific one, but just using it as an example. Checking the box does not allow me to proceed without making another edit, so on another example, I tried making a valid edit and checking the box, but nothing distinctly different happened than if I only made the valid edit (the edit is still pending at the time of this writing). I at least expected an unverified version of the profile to come into my GMB dashboard as if I was starting the verification process, but even that didn't happen.

I think you are right. This is the first time I have seen this. I can't seem to replicate it so perhaps a test.

I have seen this when making a suggested edit on a profile that was not claimed by anyone.
