Client switching to a new domain but cant 301 redirect the old domain (ADVICE)

Hello!

Have a client going through a rebrand, including a new domain name.

They have the new domain live, but for some unknown reason, they will not be able to implement 301 redirects for a while.

Is there anything that can be done in this situation besides holding off on the rebrand to avoid traffic tanking?

Run an anchor text friendly link on every like page on the old site, to each like page on the new site (domain).

What does this mean "for a while"

What errors do they get when they try to 301 the old outdated links?

You may have to do the 301 redirdcts in .htaccess of the old site if you're not already doing that.
