I have a client whose GBP was just suspended this morning due to content violations. I've checked their account and don't see any content violations. The only possible problem I see is their address is residential, but it was previously verified and wouldn't appear as a content violation, would it? For now, I'm going to appeal the decision with business documents, but if that fails, are there other options besides switching to an SAB GBP, which would likely harm their performance? In my experience, SAB profiles get significantly less traffic for local businesses.

That residential address showing publicly would be my first suspect. Google has been re-checking older listings, and a home-based business that displays its address instead of hiding it as a service-area business can get flagged now even if it verified fine before. So the cause and the fix may be the same thing.

Appeal with the documents first, that's the right move. But if it comes back denied, going SAB isn't really optional. A home address on display is against the guidelines either way, and a suspended profile earns zero traffic, so a live SAB listing beats a dead storefront one. SAB profiles can still rank well when the service areas and categories are set properly, so I wouldn't assume the drop is permanent.
