Google Maps Not Recognizing New Address

We are working with a new home community that is developing a neighborhood and having trouble on the city.

Client claims their address is supposed to be located in Todd Mission, Texas. Google recognizes the map marker and the street address as Montgomery, TX.

I am unable to locate the street address via the online County database or USPS Zip Code search.

Nearby businesses have Montgomery, TX listed as the city. I was successful at verifying their Google Business Profile with Montgomery as the city.

What are the best next steps?
1. Confirm street address was submitted and approved by the County/Municipality database records?
2. Submit street address edits in Google Maps as a user?
3. Attempt to change city on the Google Business Profile? This will likely trigger video verification, which would be difficult at this time to achieve.
4. What other important databases do I submit the new street and address, OpenStreetMap

A missing or misnamed street causes Google to grab whatever closest name it can find (which can be anywhere), so that might be the heart of your problem. Note that google doesn't handle the fact a street can be both a designation and a normal street name, so if the address is to be entered as "State Highway 12" and google has "Dervish St" it will often not find the address even if the shield is visible on the map (We had a case like that in Quebec a few years ago).

I've never seen it happen on a street google knows about: it will just approximately drop the address relative to addresses it already know. This can result in a massively misplaced address, though.

Ultimately, unless you share the actual address, we can't be entirely sure what the issue is and whether it is solvable without support's help.

Looks like an extremely clear-cut case of mailing address and city limits not being aligned.

While this may POSSIBLY be correctable via manual suggestions (cf. screencap), it will *not* help the client rank in Todd Mission, as noted in the linked article.
