As you know I work hard to keep you in the loop and share important local search related news & updates.
But the Forum gets so busy, I know important info can get buried or is sometimes hard to find.
So I'm categorizing all new Google My Business posts in one place, so no matter which subforum they are posted in, it will be easy for you to get to new updates.
I started a new hashtag for #googlemybusiness related tips and news so you can find all new info on GMB in one place.
I don't have time to keep adding to posts to the original Google My Business Announcement below. But a TON of great posts have been added, so check it again if you have not lately.
<a href="http://localsearchforum.catalystemarketing.com/google-local-important/18964-google-my-business-launches-goodbye-places-business.html">Google "My Business" Launches! Goodbye Places for Business! HUGE Google Update!</a>
For example here are 2 really important posts that got buried in the original announcement and deserve a call out here:
<a href="http://www.whitespark.ca/blog/post/33-google-my-business-what-you-need-to-know">Google My Business - What You Need to Know | Whitespark</a>
<a href="http://www.brightlocal.com/2014/06/12/google-business-introduced/">Google My Business - Video Guide & Insider Insights | BrightLocal</a>
But from now on, all new Google My Business articles I write or posts I share about GMB will be under that #googlemybusiness hashtag. This will make it easier for you to find everything about GMB all in one place.
Just added 2 really good GMB posts today - with more on the way.
FORUM GMB REORG STARTED... I also am re-branding some forums here.
The "Google Places Help and Support Forum" is now the "Google My Business Help and Support Forum".
I just changed the Google+ Local general discussion forum to Google Local because it's not specifically about the GMB dashboard, about Local listings in general.
More changes coming over the weekend as I try to help keep this place organized and make it easy for all of you to find the information you need.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST - For the many new members just joining us, please read the following post:
<a href="http://localsearchforum.catalystemarketing.com/forum-news-questions-suggestions/17495-stay-informed-how-subscribe-search-forum.html">STAY INFORMED - How to Subscribe & Search the Forum</a>
At the very least, if you are a local search consultant, provider or 'in the biz' in any way, you REALLY need to subscribe to the Google+ Local IMPORTANT section.
That's where all the most important Google Local and GMB updates, changes, new features, gotchas and bugs get posted. I'm the only one that can post new threads in that section and I only post there for important Google updates and news - no help threads or minor stuff! (Link above explains how.)
More new GMB News coming soon! Stay tuned to the #googlemybusiness channel!
(Already 6 in there and I'm just barely getting started!)
