Friday afternoon, after many of you were already off for the weekend, Imprezzio Marketing published a great post by my friend Marie Haynes.
Marie was the 1st person I ever trained on Google Places 4 years ago or so and as many of you know, she is now the leading authority on Google organic ranking penalties.
So if you are concerned about Penguin penalties or wondering if you should use the disavow tool proactively in case your client was guilty of previous transgressions, I would definitely read this 1st.
Thanks Marie!

There is a lot of confusion and misinformation surrounding the use of Google?s disavow tool. This tool, created so that a site owner can clean up a poor backlink profile, can be quite useful when it comes to helping a site recover from either a manual unnatural links penalty or problems with Google?s Penguin algorithm. But should you consider using the tool even if you haven?t been affected by either of these?
