Local Pack and Google Maps Correlation

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question. If a business ranks #1 in Google Maps for a specific query, does that mean they will also rank #1 in the Local Pack? Likewise, if they are position 3 in the Local Pack? Will they be in position 3 in Google maps?

The answer to this is most of the time yes, however, I have seen some anomalies where this is not true. If I am looking to see how stable rankings are for a client, I look to see if they rank the same in mobile, local finder and 3 pack. If so then they are golden, if not then there is more work to do.
