No option to "Add Update" to a location

I haven't run into this before. The location is verified and being displayed:

No option to "Edit Products" either.

This is an organization with 2 locations about a 30 minute drive from each other (shooting ranges).

@Brian - TGL - Some features of the Business Profile are category dependent. Not all categories have the option to post an update, add services, add products, etc.

What are the categories on the profile?

Also, did you once have the option to add updates and products and suddenly they disappeared? (If you never had the option, it's very likely just a category issue.)

The 2 locations have a different main category.

The one with no update option:
- Gun Club
- Shooting Range
- Club

The one with updates available:
- Shooting Range
- Shooting Event Area
- Skeet Shooting Range

I think it's safe to assume that one of those category is the culprit because of guns. If there's an official doc mentioning that posts are forbidden to some categories (a fairly well-known fact amongst local SEOs), I can't find it. However, I think it's safe to assume the affected categories are probably very similar to the category of Google Ads classified under "dangerous products and services".

You can also get a "perm ban" for posting. Especially in risky categories where there have been violations before.

The updates part is probably because of the general bug affecting everyone, though. Right now we can't be sure if that's just you or not.

Both locations are categorized as shooting ranges . . . the one that has posts available has three categories that contain shooting.

There have never been any posts to either location, I just happened to notice one didn't have the option.

Makes sense to wait and see if the current global posting issue gets resolved or if Google has decided to sunset the updates feature.
