For LSA ads, what’s people’s preference on de-selecting the option to Show Ads for the Brand name, it’s called ‘Direct Business Search’ in the settings.

{In the Profile/Budget section -> Settings -> “Direct Business Search”. }

The reason I want it off, is that it’s taking clicks/calls away from the GBP.

So the GBP is reporting a decline, but it’s not actually doing worse, it’s just that the LSA ads are taking those calls/clicks.

Yes I know you'll get credited for it, more concerned with the GBP stats.

What do people prefer? On or Off?

Hi Gerry,

It would be dependent on cost per lead and ROI in the given location/industry. In my opinion, I'd leave it off, and run a PPC brand campaign for a cheaper CPL, since Google doesn't differentiate lead costs of branded vs non-branded.

Also, its up to the caller to respond to the automated prompt to indicate if they are a return or new customer ("press 1 if you are a returning customer, otherwise stay on the line") - not ideal. Furthermore, there is a concern of competitors showing in the SERP/pro list local finder when searching your brand name.

You can test it for a short period of time and see what happens. I'm interested to hear what others prefer.
