Hi Guys,

I need your help. I initially created a Google Business Profile (GBP), but Google requested video verification. Since this is a newly started business, I was unable to provide sufficient information during the video call and decided to ignore it. Instead, I set up a new profile, which was approved through phone verification. However, two days later, it was suspended. When I submitted my business registration documents to request reinstatement, the request was denied. I then asked an expert to contact Google via email, and I’ve been waiting for a response for the past five days. What are the chances of receiving a positive outcome?

Its a Garage Doors business.

Base video verification has a high rate of reverifications. Try to get a live call verification if you can, at our agency we find those are less likely to lead to a deverification. Take it with a grain of salt, though, as we happen to have basically no clients in high-suspicion verticals like garage door repairs.

If you contacted Google about this through anything other than this form you will not likely hear back. I would only fill out that form if you have sufficient evidence to pass video verification, including a video of your location proving you exist there. Based on your original comment of not having enough evidence to pass video verification, you're likely going to run into the same issue here.

Thanks Joy for the reply.

I sometimes struggle to understand Google. One of my competitors is listing their home address and claiming to be open 24 hours, even though they're also a Service Area Business and seemingly unconcerned about these discrepancies. In contrast, I've opted to hide our address, displaying only our phone number, website, and one service area.

I've also submitted our business registration to verify our listing.

I've used the form you suggested to contact Google, but I'm still waiting for their response. Let's see what they come back with.

thanks again.

@silverweb - In my experience, reinstatements are slow right now. I'm seeing some take 2+ weeks. Log into the Appeals tool. If the status is "submitted", you'll have to wait for Google to respond. If it stays that way for 30 days you can try the form Joy suggested or maybe even create a post in the community forum.

thanks @Stefan Somborac,

The first try did not succeed. So I sent through the form @JoyHawkins mentioned, it's been 2 weeks now. As you said the reinstatements are slow, I will wait for a few more days.

Can you pls shed light on if there is anything such as until Google won't close the first request which we make through the appeal form, will not respond to another which is the 'review appeal' form?

@silverweb - I'm not sure I understand the question. If my answer doesn't help, just let me know and I'll try again!

The 'review appeal' form starts by asking if you've completed the appeal form.

If you reply 'No', it won't let you go any farther and provides a link to the appeals tool. (See attached.) If forces you to complete the appeal first.

If you reply 'Yes', it asks if the appeal was denied. If you reply 'No', it tells you that your appeal is being reviewed and you'll need to wait. (See attached.)

In short, the form starts by making sure 1.) you've submitted an appeal, and 2.) were denied. It really pushes you toward completing an appeal first.

You can lie and reply 'yes' to both questions and then carry on with the form. But for most support issues, there would be no point in doing this.

Does that answer the question?
