Hi Guys,

My local client is an orthodontist. On his Google+ page, I am using the category "orthodontist".

HOWEVER, on my schema richmarkup, as verified using Google's structured data tester, I am using the category "Dentist"

Is this discrepancy problematic? Although the categories "dentist" and "orthodontist" are related, they're still different. Would it be better to use the category "local business" instead?

If it were me I would not use Physician.

An Orthodontist is a Dental specialty, so he's essentially a Dentist with a special degree.
Just like an Orthopedic Surgeon is still a Physician.

That's my feeling after working in Dental for years. But I don't know if there is maybe an Ortho schema or if you can get that specific with schema. If you can than you should use Ortho.

This Free Website Schema Creator I just found when searching for Orthodontist Schema, has Ortho as a category. But I don't know who made the tool and where they got the info or if it's allowed.

You could try it and run it through the Google Structured Data Testing Tool

All you need to do it generate it with Ortho as a category and submit the code and it will tell you if it's correct. Don't even need to put on the site and test URL yet, til you know it works.

Understood, thank you Linda, Scott, and MarketingGiant for your help!
